Perfectly Flawed
Synopsis
Waiting for musical demo, but ready for submission upon request.
ACT I
Perfectly Flawed is the story of Jeremy Kronig, a stunningly handsome young man who is the son of the top geneticist in the world. Privately schooled by the best educators available, but kept secluded in his parents’ mansion by his overbearing mother, Rose, he is suddenly forced to become the CEO of his father’s billion-dollar company when his father, George Kronig, ironically dies young of a rare incurable genetic defect, called “Telemuria”, (“I Have Everything, I Have Nothing”). His father’s will demands that Jeremy be the sole beneficiary, with two caveats: $250,000 per year must be sent to a Jacob Didymos in Greece. Except for their lawyer, Martin, no one has heard of this young man, and a mysterious key has been given to Jeremy without explanation.
During Jeremy’s initial tour through the Kronig labs, Head Scientist, Dr. Mathews, schools him on the latest technology, “CRISPR”, (“A Genetics Lesson”), then confronts the Board of Directors who are determined to expel him as CEO, but he wins the day, (“We are the Board”). Upon leaving the Kronig headquarters he is swamped by the public’s response to his new fame. He is rescued by Hank, a competitor’s henchman ordered to insinuate himself into Jeremy’s confidence. Jeremy becomes enamored with Annika, a Kronig scientist, (“Curiosity”), who helps him find a new resolve to accomplish his quests as the new king of the company, (“The Mirror”).
Alan Barnes, the CEO of competitor, Chromogene, Inc., is determined to ruin Jeremy to take over Kronig Enterprises. He orders Hank to post embarrassing videos of Jeremy on the Internet, but the plan backfires, as it only enhances his popularity. They find Jacob Didymos in Greece and convince him to assert his possible claim on the Kronig fortune, (“The Crush”). Meanwhile, Congressman Backus is preparing a commission to ban genetic engineering as a threat to mankind, citing Eugenics as the evil, despite having a son, Cody, who is disabled with Cerebral Palsy, (“I Pray; I Dream”). Cody is brought to the lab for tests, befriending Jeremy, (“Animal Tales”), Hank tries another ploy to disgrace Jeremy by taking him to a “Furries” fetish club but reconsiders his loyalties and decides to support Jeremy. (“I Can Fix This”). Hank interrogates Jacob about his true intentions and discovers Jacob has a mysterious key identical to Jeremy’s. Jacob bursts into the Kronig Boardroom to announce he is taking over the company, shocking everyone. Jeremy is enraged, (“I Have Everything/He’ll get Nothing!”).

ACT II
Rose makes a commitment to support Jeremy and repudiate Jacob. (“Mother’s Showtime”). As Annika, Jeremy and Hank are treating Cody in the Lab, Cody accidentally finds a box requiring two keys. After Jacob arrives, they open the box revealing CDs from George, confessing that Jeremy and Jacob are twins, that he convinced Rose that Jacob had died in childbirth, that he genetically engineered Jacob with the cure for Telemuria, and enhanced Jeremy’s physical traits instead of curing him, (“Brothers’ Minds”). They conspire to take over the company together. Annika and Jeremy have a secluded date at Jeremy’s mountain cabin and fall in love. (“The Woo”). Rose confronts Alan about his plan and blackmails him to back off. Jacob and Jeremy connect as brothers, discussing their lives growing up. (“Better with a Brother”). Upon finding out that Dr. Mathews was responsible for his eugenic engineering, Jeremy collapses. Annika discovers he is having advanced signs of the inherited disease. She attempts to cure him, while Jeremy hunts down Dr. Mathews to answer questions about why he was engineered for physical perfection, yet not cured of Telemuria, (“Perfectly Flawed”). Annika divulges to Rose that she is pregnant, (“The Puzzle”). The funeral of Jeremy ends the story as everyone remembers his influence on their lives: (“Shooting Star”).
