MICHAEL O’FLAHERTY

Composer/ additional book and lyrics for “Born Baby Boomers”.

 

Michael O’Flaherty recently retired after 28 years as the Resident Music Director of the Goodspeed Opera House, in Connecticut. He supervised and conducted over 100 productions at Goodspeed.

 

On Broadway he conducted Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “By Jeeves”, “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and composed the score for Nikos Psacharopoulos’ production of “A Streetcar Named Desire”.

Off-Broadway he was musical supervisor, arranger and performer for Carol Hall’s “To Whom It May Concern”.

He has worked at Playwrights Horizons, Ford’s Theatre, The Whole Theatre, The Acting Company, The Smithsonian Institution, The Chelsea Theatre Centre, The Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, North Shore Music Theater, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the Kennedy Center.

He spent eleven summers as Music Director for the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

 

As a composer, he has written six new musicals with collaborator, KJ Steiger: “Born Baby Boomers”, “Perfectly Flawed”, “Shelter”, “The Mute Songbird”, “Time Will Tell” and Mothers' Nature.


His holiday musical, "A Connecticut Christmas Carol," written with LJ Fecho, was produced at Goodspeed Musicals for three consecutive seasons, to great acclaim. This same show, re-titled "A Syracuse Christmas Carol", was produced by Redhouse Performing Arts Center, in Syracuse, NY.

 

Since 2020, Michael has been an Adjunct Professor at the Hartt School of The University of Hartford, where he has also directed six shows, plus a four-night performance of “Born Baby Boomers”.

KJ STEIGER

KJ has been writing lyrics since high school for his Rock garage band, Onyx.


Creator, libretto, and lyricist of “Born Baby Boomers”.

As a playwright and lyricist, with his collaborator, Michael O’Flaherty, he has written  six new musicals: “Born Baby Boomers”, “Perfectly Flawed”, “Shelter”, “The Mute Songbird”, “Time Will Tell”, and Mothers' Nature.

 

His musical, “Born Baby Boomers”, was performed at Hartt School of the University of Hartford in 2024.
